A sincere Thank you to the volunteer team that allowed QAPSA to conduct another most successful National Championships. It takes a successful team of people to do something great and we all did it together.

Some of the clubs that were represented by volunteers were: City of Brisbane, Metropolitan, Murrumba, Warwick, Isis, Maryborough Small Bore, Gold Coast PAA, Gladstone and that is besides clubs that had representatives competing at the Nationals.

Events like this are the pinnacle of our sport in the country and are so important not only to the athletes who have trained over the past 12 months to achieve results but also to the attending politicians and dignitaries who attended in showing them our professionalism in conducting such an event. It is also a great opportunity to showcase the Belmont Complex and the facilities especially in light of the 2018 Commonwealth Games bid and the possibility of some upgrades that could be on the card.

We must thank our Jury who work hard at ensuring there is an level playing field for all participants and the lack of protests proves this is working well.

A special thanks to Tom and Peter and the team of volunteers who worked in the canteen ensuring we all were well fed including allowing us to have treats when we thought we deserved them.

Thank you to Peter, Vicki and the team in classification who worked thoroughly at providing athletes with fairly instant scores in most instances, can you imagine how many scores they double checked!

Who was that person in the yellow jacket that seemed to have a shadow or two that all worked together to make sure the ranges were in order and workers were available for each detail? Well done team.

Thank you also to Bruce and his team at Metro who worked in rainy conditions through the days of the Service events but were still smiling on Wednesday to enjoy a great meal provided by Peter, Tom and their team.

The two host clubs being City of Brisbane and Metropolitan provided great range facilities which allowed for two national records to be broken.

Thank you to the Organising Committee of Bruce, Dave, Michele, Sharyn, Joan, Shane, Elaine, Peter and Tom

Thanks to Sharyn for all her hard work to ensure everything was done professionally and with a smile.
